Flare (yes, that’s how we are spelling it) is our gose that we have added citrus fruit to. This beer is slightly tart, a little salty, and has a nice balance from the fruit and spices. Ale brewed with orange and coriander.

Bottle from Beautiful Beers, Bury-St-Edmunds. Sour skunky aroma. Packs some hit. A hazy gold. Extremely bubbly, contributing to the massive frothy head. Light sour (which grows in strength). Citrus. Salty. Spice. As expected. Light bodied. Slick. Lively carbonation. Dry finish. Salty aftertaste. I like. Has impact.

Gristmill, Brooklyn can: pours orange with a small head. Aroma is light citrus, slight minerals, Light funk. Taste is citrus and moderately sour. Light spicy bite. Not bad but not really what I want in the style.

Good gose, not groundbreaking but does everything a gose should do, bringing both an intense citric sourness and a briny, lingering tart finish. Lemon and green berries mix with subtle wheat undertones and a floral-herbal note on the back end, and the salt stays strong in the fade. Bright, tangy aroma, and the pour comes out a nice clear gold with a lasting head. Perfect bubbly texture. Nice beer.

Bottle, 0.50l. Cloudy deep golden color with medium frothy off-white head, yeast sediment and sparkling appearance. Aroma of citrus, horse blanket, sweat, white wine and coriander. Taste starts refreshing citric and tart vinous, following is grainy, slightly herbal and just a bit salty, mouthfeel is crisp and dry, while finish is mild bitter. Medium body, thin texture and fizzy carbonation in palate. Simple, but awesome...

Bottle. A clear one, golden in color and with a dense, finger-thick white head. It’s quite lemony on the nose, very fruity and with a faint undefinable spiced touch. It’s medium bodied, dry and nicely carbonated, with a pleasant bitterness. Citrus zest, lemon and a wee salty and spiced touch in the flavor. Lasting orange and lemon finish with little maltyness shining through. A very quenching and refreshing beer, tasteful too. 161105
