Bottle shared by Adam, thanks! Pours black with a creamy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma combines dark grains, roasted malts and a bit of booze with a bit of chocolate. Flavor has a good amount of chalky dark grains and coffee with a decent amount of earthiness.

Dark brown to black with a light brown head. Sweet coffee with vanilla and caramel. Big fudgey chocolate flavor. More roast in the taste than aroma. Fairly sweet with a drier, roasty finish. Creamy and smooth. Very good beer.

22 oz bottle poured into a Modern Times tulip. Black with a couple fingers of fluffy tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, a bit of licorice, subtle dark fruit, coffee, roasty notes. Tastes of dark chocolate, coffee, roasty notes, light booze. Booze may cover up the coffee somewhat. Full body with a dry and slightly boozy finish. Tasty and pretty dangerously drinkable for 10%. Probably prefer the regular Black House a bit more with the more pronounced coffee notes and drinkability.

22 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of roasted malt and light piney hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with roasted malt, some burn caramel and resinous hops. Very well balanced and robust. Sort of tastes more like a black IPA with all the hoppiness. Excellent stuff.
