Renowned for their Belgian farmhouse ales, good friends Phil Markowski and Belgian brewer Yvan de Baets teamed up to make this Double Grisette. This beer has the malted wheat base generous hopping of this bygone Belgian style but adds a twist: two different yeast strains were used, a wild yeast from Connecticut and a traditional Saison yeast from Belgium. The result is a dry, fruity, and aromatic farmhouse ale with a genuine Belgo-American Pedigree.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam, during Carnivale Brettanomyces 2017. Highly floral aroma with peppery Saison yeast, malt, soft hop, spicy notes, and a light sugary touch. Flavour is moderate sweet and mildly bitter. Body is medium. Good floral Saison.

Bottled. Hazy yellowish golden colour with a small creamy white head. Aroma is fruity, toffeeish, some slight tropical fruits and mild yeasty tones. Flavour is citrus, some tropical fruits, yeast, mild herbal and grassy tones with mild earth as well. Refreshing and actually quite quaffable.

Nice stuff. Very grainy, light citrus and berries fruitiness. Dry and bitter. Some saison type yeastiness further down. Easy drinking

Bottle - hazy gold with a substantial head - nose has that unmistakable de la Senne yeast character, some cobweb, gum, melon, flint - creamy texture - slightly sweet citrus up front, but a firm bitterness sets is shortly after - some grass, lemon, pepper - finish of bitter herbs and a little returning sweetness - it's good, but I'd reach for many of their other beers before I touched this one again.

330ml bottle. Milky, yellow-ish, bright pale golden colour with average to huge, thick, fluffy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Spicy yeasty, fruity aroma, hints of quince, mirabelle, apricot, herbal overtones. Taste is dry, fruity and mildly yeasty spicy, hints of mirabelle and apricot, a touch of quince, citrusy hoppy overtones, a touch of white pepper; smooth and soft carbonation. Superbly blanced, very refreshing, highly drinkable - goes down all too fast in just a few gulps.

A light yellow beer, a head is medium and white. Aroma has fruitness with citrus and tropical notes, low spicyness, flowers and popcorn. Taste has complex fruitness, citrus, some bitterness, quite dry. Medium bodied. Harmonic and fruitful saison.

Mycket gott.
