RAW Cider's Frequin Rouge is a sparkling cider made with a blend of some of our favorite French bittersweet apples, Frequin Rouge and Kermerrien. After fermentation, the cider is blended and refermented with the red fruit character and acid of Airlie Red - a red flesh apple discovered in Oregon.

Bold aromatics of red berry, apple skin, and fresh rhubarb. This cider is dry (just off-dry) with great balance of tannins (medium-plus) and acidity (medium). Rich red fruit flavors followed by a mid palate tannin with a smooth finish. Flavor notes of baked apple, apple skin, leather, strawberry, pear, candy lemon, tart cherry, rhubarb. Light phenolics on the finish.

Pair with Stilton cheese, duck, or wild rice dishes

Ingredients: Oregon Apples - Frequin Rouge 60%, Airlie Red 25%, Kermerrien 15%

750ml from Press. Bottled April 2024.

Clear, slightly dull, light brown, heady soda splash head.
Fruity, sour red fruit, soft floral, lemon candy nose.
Lemon, acidy, sweet-tart, noticeable berry & lingering leather but it remains bright. Slightly boozy. Stop sign astringency.
Strong, forced lather bubbly, splash of initial sharpness over the lingering tartness.

Decently good. A bit pricey.
