Ask any hardcore Stone enthusiast about our most legendary beers and you’re bound to hear mention of this one. Nearly jet black with a fluffy hot chocolate-colored head, a goblet of this obsidian wonder held to the sky could block out the sun. Or an evening. Redolent with dark chocolate and heavy roast up front, gracefully supported by nuances of coffee, black currant, molasses as it finishes… this beaut is ageable for years. Some of us are still enjoying our bottles from the early 2000’s. So, to look ahead, what will your stock of the 2022 edition of the Stone Imperial Stout be in 2037? Legit question. Advance planning will be its own reward!

35,5cl can from Alko, Espoo. Pours black with a brown head. Roasty aroma with dark chocolate, dark berries and notes of coffee and hints of alcohol. Rather smooth, roasty and desserty with a certain balance. Tasty and enjoyable.

A black beer, a head is medium and brown. Aroma has liquorice, roastiness, some salt liquorice. Taste has liquorice, roastiness, hint of drid fruits. Almost full bodied. Quite simple, but tastefull.

Ilmselt sama isend, mis stone imperial russian stout, aga no uus tick on uus tick... Meeldiv vana kooli isend, röstine ja šokolaadine ja mõru, lagrits ja asjad ka. Hea.

Can from the Packie
Inky black with a decent sized frothy tan head that persists. Earthy roasty chocolate licorice and caramel with bits of dark dried fruit to counter. I'm not sure why this is listed as a vintage, but its tasty and takes me back.

Opaque colour, firm brownish head. Coffeish, roasted aroma. Medium-bodied. Roasted, coffeish, hints of licorice in the flavour, some hops. Clean, old school imperial stout. Well-brewed.

12oz can. Poured a pitch black color with a small tan head. Aroma was dark chocolate, with some roasted coffee. Taste was bitter dark chocolate, coffee, malt, and has a nice smooth texture. Tasty stuff, not sure if this is a rebrew of the old RIS or if it's a totally different beer.
