This rich and robust barleywine boasts a bold 15% ABV, aged for four years in Elijah Craig bourbon barrels. This extended aging imparts deep flavors of caramel, toffee and dark fruit, complemented by warm, oaky bourbon notes and a smooth, mellow finish. Sample at the taproom during the "11 Years of Bold Brews - Zaftig's Anniversary Party!" event on 05/17/2025. This beer is a dark amber-mahogany color with a thin off-white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Sparse strings of lace. Aroma of oak, fruit, bourbon and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, ripe fruit, caramel malt and a touch of earthy hop. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Good Barley Wine all around.
