English Pale Ale ale, made using Maris otter pale ale malt, a little crystal and Goldings hops. The resultant brew is not overly hopped and aimed at the session beer market. Phoenix was the beer that was brewed to fill the gap between Young's leaving Wandsworth site and Sambrook's arriving in order to maintain the UK record of the longest continuously brewing site.

Cask at Ealing Beer Fest 25. Clear copper gold. Thin frothy foamy white head. Aroma has light citrus and fruit over malta. Flavourwise it's pretty similar. Twiggy stuff with some citrus and underlying malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Bland as.
