Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of eggshell white foamy head that dissipated at a mild pace. Some stringy lace.
The aroma had some char/ash, rugged coffee grounds, burnt toast, dried earthy hops and lets in a nice expected smokiness.
The flavor lead with the smoke and brought in touches of sweetness melding with the coffee grounds somewhat. Aftertaste is \"char-like\" with some hints of dark chocolate and earthiness. Not much finish, but was somewhat dry.
The feel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Sly smoky smoothness strolled along my tongue. Carbonation felt nice. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, pretty nice smoked porter worthy of more pours, but not at the same level as Alaskan’s.

On tap at the brewery. Opaque medium brown body, medium cream head. Light chocolatey, roasty aroma (but served too cold). Light sweet body, lactic, with notes of milk chocolate, coffee, and dry roast. Light peaty notes add a salty, leathery characteristic to the beer. Good complexity, but slightly astringent and a bit rough on the palate.
