One of three beers recently available as part of an "Experimental Series" at the Eccentric Cafe. All highlight the characteristics of a single hop, balanced by light, cerealy malts. The bar staff did not know which particular hop was highlighted in each beer, however. This version had a hazy yellow-orange body, topped by a thin to medium off-white head. Light spicy hops aroma with subtle bready malts in the background. Crisp, lightly malted body with bitter spicy hops that lingered on the palate. Tingly, strong carbonation. The hops developed an interesting soapy, peppery characteristic over time that reminded me of Saaz...but I could be way off. In that case, this probably is best not classified as an American Pale Ale, but I’ll leave that for more discerning palates. In any case, this wasn’t particularly impressive.
