Tenth Anniversary Ale on tap at Royal Oak BC. Deep red body, medium light tan head. Berryish malty aroma, with some citric, rindy hops. The body was surprisingly balanced towards the malty side of things, with caramel, berries, cereals, and toasty notes in addition to a hint of cherry. Alcohol was surprisingly subdued. American Strong Ale is probably the best category for this beer, but it reminded me of a strong Scotch Ale with the sweet, twig-n-berries malt complexity. Nice.
