Natural Selection Brewing XIII proudly present Golden Hour, a refreshing blonde ale infused with South African Rooibos. Magnum, Amarillo, Simcoe and Lemondrop hops provide zesty citrus and floral notes that harmonise beautifully with the sweet, nutty character of Rooibos, while speciality malts like Carapils and Torrefied Oats enhance body, mouthfeel and head retention. A balanced, sessionable beer with subtle complexity and a sun-kissed finish, Golden Hour is the perfect companion for a sunny day.

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours marmalade orange with a decent fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh, fragrant, floral, herbal, roobius, vanilla, orange marmalade, apricot, peaches & cream, dried apricot and earth. The taste is firmly dry, earthy, slightly tannic, leather , fruity black tea, dried apricot, peach, orange marmalade, pithy, zesty citrus, woody, fragrant and herbal with a drying finale. Average body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Interesting depth of flavour and super quaffable.

Can from Stewart Brewing. Clear deep golden body with an off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of raspberry, floral hops and biscuit. Flavour of redcurrants and sweet malt. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. A tangy, well put together beer.

On cask at the Blue Blazer.
Appearance - golden amber and fairly clear. Creamy off white head.
Nose - something that could be Rooibos because I'm looking for it. Mainly brown bread and a hint of citrus.
Taste - malt loaf, toffee, hint of tea potentially.
Palate - medium bodied, chewy texture and sweet chewy finish.
Overall - elements of ESB or brown ale going on here.

Can from the brewery. Pours clear golden with a thick white head. Aromas of light citrus and red fruit, light malt. Taste brings the Rooibos in, nicely judged. Slight tannins on the finish.
