Pint can picked up at a specialty grocery in Richmond, VA - black pour with an off white lace - nose and flavor are a lovely mixture of sweet, umami, and bitter - creamy texture and full but not heavy body - presents a bit like a classic American example like Old Rasputin or Storm King, but adds additional layers of miso umami, tobacco, and a light spiciness - warning and complex - nice!

16 oz. Beer #4, second day of Extreme Beer Fest in Cyberspace. Aroma has notes of wet stone, dark bread, black coffee, licorice. Pours midnight black with a one finger beige head with excellent retention. Taste is moderately bitter, a little sweet, a little salty, with strong umami character. Nice velvety mouthfeel. Interesting.
