87 years after B.T. and Leota Loftus founded our family’s hop farm in 1932, we harvested something new: our first ever barley crop. Now in our second season as malt farmers, we are proud to share with you the Bale Breaker Homegrown Beer series featuring 100% homegrown hops and 100% homegrown malts. Release No. 6 in the series is a balanced, fruity, hazy IPA with ripe aromas of pineapple, orange, grapefruit, and apricot. It features our homegrown Pilsner & Munich barley malts plus our first ever crop of wheat and oat malts. We grew this beer.

16 oz. Aroma has notes of bready malt, biscuity malt, papaya, overripe strawberries. Pours hazy golden with a one finger bone white head with decent retention. Taste has a light to moderate pithy bitterness. Not really juicy and sweet like a NEIPA. More like a West Coast, but it lacks any serious bitterness. It’s more subtle than either, reminding me more of an American Pale Ale than anything. Pillowy mouthfeel with somewhat soft carbonation. Not bad.
