A Pét Nat from our orchard in Montana's Bitterroot Valley.

Dry & Dandy is a Pét Nat cider made from a blend of some of our favorite apple varieties for cider making: a refreshing blend of Wickson, Golden Russet, Calville Blanc, Amere de Berthcourt, Harry Masters Jersey, Harrison, and Hudsons Golden Gem apples. All of the apples were grown on Western Cider's own orchard in Montana's Bitterroot Valley.

Bottled at the tail end of primary fermentation in the pétillant naturel style. Rested for 6 months before it's recent release (2025). Eminently drinkable.

6.8/10 Appearance 7 Aroma 6.5 Flavor 6 Texture 9 Overall 6.5
Clear 750ml from Press online. Week in the fridge. Mojito glass at home.

Pissy yellow, some protien haze, tall & quick soda head.
Earthy, wormy apple, veggie, saline, strong barnyard nose. A little time/air & some of the funk wears off, revealing a more herbal scent.
Heavy & heady tannins. Floral yeasties, sharp white wine, clay, onion, socks, mint.
Taste is a flash of browned apples sweetness, then a drastic apple core bitterness, powdered Flinstones vitamins, table wine.
Crispy, sharp, acidic, but meaty, dense, overly tannic & yeasty on the back. The texture really carries this bottle.

Complex & huge potential but it doesn't add up. Certainly a struggle to finish this bottle. --- Beer merged from original tick of Dry & Dandy (2024) on 23 Jan 2026 at 23:24 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7.5 | Flavor - 9 | Texture - 9 | Overall - 9. Original review text: A reinvention for 24/25, new apples. Clear 750 bottle. Pint glass at home.

Opaque, dull honey orange pour, weak head.
Cooked sharp apples, onions, herbs, orange, menthol, salty nose.
Sharp apples with a savory flavor profile. Sweet onion, twangy orange peel, pine, coarse apple peel dryness. In between dry & off-dry. Legitimately fruity. Slight sulfite headache.
Creamy, textured, bite-y acid, middle low tartness, approachable+ tannins. A bit under-carbed for a pet-nat.

Very yummy upgrade from last year.
