Barleywine, the malt monster of the beer world. The Whale is an English gentleman…...sorry hop heads. The Whale is all about malt, more so, how much malt we could stuff into a mash tun, followed by how much rich and delicious liquid we could then squeeze out of that. What you get is a tremendous amount of flavor complexity with a rich and warm color. Creamy toffee, butterscotch, and caramel flavors….all that while using zero caramel or crystal malts. This may sound like a tough liquid to swallow, but you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the smooth and mellow mouthfeel. The whale finishes with a bit of alcohol warmth, as pleasant reminder that you’re drinking a strong ale.
