The second in our first round of barrel releases, Voyage of the Elizabeth P. is an Imperial Stout aged in @makersmark bourbon barrels. Bakers chocolate, hazelnut, and dark fruit fill out this beers aroma along with flavors of prune, dark chocolate, and vanilla.

Named in honor of Jim Chesnutt, a renaissance man, sailor, and raconteur who left this world all too soon. We want to thank our friend and ardent supporter, Joel Aslanian for sharing Jim’s story. See y’all this Wednesday.

Dark brown. Bubbly head. Boozy nose, cheap bourbon. Decent dark sugar malt base, though a touch light. The treatment is suboptimal…not a top barrel and it comes on strong, with a hint of bubblegum. Reminds me of Boreas.

On tap at Here Today, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is rich, with deep roasted malt, dark cocoa, and a smoky bourbon barrel presence. Flavour is rich and bold, with intense bourbon barrel presence—somewhat smoky, almost charred—with dry cocoa, big roast, and a slightly sludgy body. Not quite a top-tier BA stout, but there’s a lot nice here. Very good.
