Porter the way it was in the nineteenth century, brewed with chocolate malt and finishing lightly tart, similar to a Rodenbach, though slightly less acidic. Brewed with a touch of fig leaves for added baking spice character. A unique beer with a finish reminiscent of chocolate covered cherries.

Murky black, creamy off white head. Sour nose. Black licorice and black cherry, some acetic notes, smoke. Flavor has oats and toasted malt, lightly sour, smoke, acetic notes. Thin finish. I didn't hate it, but it takes getting used to.

On tap at the Beer Temple, Chicago. Black with beige head. Roasty, some smoke, bit tart with fruity notes. Not a huge fan of this.
