We have used an English hop in the Pale Ale - Ernest - grown by Simon Parker at Instone Court in Herefordshire. This hop gives some very lemony flavours and aroma and is a perfect match for the other hops we have used in this brew (Cluster, First Gold and Olicana).

Handpull cask at the Feathers Hotel, Ledbury. Light gold and clear with a very small white head. Sweet spicy aroma, light grains, some appley and grapefruit notes. Taste is bittersweet, a little soapy and astringent. A fair intensity to the bitter finish. Light body, soft carbonation. Reasonable.
