Dominus Double is a refreshing abbey beer with a long-lasting flavour, leaving a well-balanced bitter aftertaste with a spicy touch. Roasted and quite hoppy, the aromas develop elegantly with hints of old, slightly dry wood. It has a crystalline colour, dark red with caramel highlights. The head is thick and creamy.
Dominus Double is ideal for accompanying smoked game or moist dark chocolate desserts.

Bottle, 6.5%. Mild brown sugar aroma. Clear dark brown colour. Good stable tan head. The flavour is faintly sweet with caramel, toffee, and brown sugar. Low bitterness. A little watery, but not bad.

Bottle. Pours clear ruby copper brown with airy beige head. Clear, fruity aroma with notes of caramel malt. Sweet flavour of caramel malt and fruit. Rough, malty notes in the finish. Warming alcohol presence with its bitterish hints. OK.

(Bottle, Delirium Monasterium, Brussels, 26 Oct 2013) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with caramel, brown sugar and dark bread. Malty taste with notes of caramel, brown sugar, dried fruit and a mild spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. A fairly generic dubbel, but well made and tasty. Quite nice.

33 cl. bottle. Split by 2 @ outside. Lovely looking bottle, procured from Willems. Drank straight from the bottle. Carb. is a bit too high, influencing the taste, body does feel nicely full, flavourful with big brown sugar, sweetish jam, light prunes, touch grape jelly, sweet spices, sweet malt & candy. Pretty solid but still fairly standard, flavourful dubbel.

Bottle @ home. Very nice deep dark red color, medium sized beige head. Aroma has malts, sweetness, dark fruits, some wood. Taste malts, sweetness, dark fruits, raisins. Actually this is a very nice abbey double. Medium body and carbonation. Quite like this one. Nice surprise.

Decent dubbel, dark brown with thick beige head. Head fades fast to skin. Sweetish aroma of molasses and burnt toast. Taste is sharp and zippy, leaves your tongue tingling, more molasses and some metallic aftertaste. Pretty good, but could be improved.
