Sometimes called a Cascadian Dark Ale, not as roasty or as dark as a stout, and more heavily hopped like an IPA. Resinous, piney, with berry notes

The brethren provideth but not for much longeth noweth thateth I'veth shunnethed themeth. Slightly opaque dark brown. Thick frothy foamy light beige head. Aroma has espresso and charcoal with a herbal streak and underlying mocha. Flavourwise it has a tang - berries with a pinch of herbs. Followed by a bitter coffee and charcoal core. Develops some caramel into the finish. A tad confused. Medium bodied. Slick to creamy. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. A tangy BIPA but didn't particularly impress in terms of a flavour range that missed the mark.
