Sour ale aged in wine barrels with strawberries. A celebration of the summer harvest, this blond sour ale is loaded with Coastal Seascape Strawberries grown at Dirty Girl Farms in California’s santa Cruz Mountains. These delicious berries are swept by cool evening ocean breezes and drenched in warm daytime sun before being hand-picked and added to this tart and refreshing ale. Enjoy paired with classic charcuterie and summer salads.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell 10/9/2015. Many thanks to Daniel for this one. Aroma is baby sick, apricot, and caramac bar. Hazed golden yelow coloured pour with a fading white head. Flavour is composed of puckering crisp citrus sour, somewhat cheesy, tangy apricot and granny Smith apple, woody really dirty. Palate is sweet and sour, picking acidic, tangy woody, highish carbonation.

Bottle bought @ Kihoskh. Pours hazy orange with a minimal offwhite head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is fruity with sourdough crackers, lemon juice, lime juice, frozen strawberries, white grapes, hay, minerals and lemon zest. Taste is sour, fruity and tiny funky. Mouthfeel dry, tart, mouth-puckering, tiny sparkling and light to medium bodied. Finish is sour with sourdough crackers, lemon juice, frozen strawberries, white grapes, yoghurt, moist wood, hay, minerals, lemon zest and hints of barnyard. Strawberries tend to be quite hard to handle but this beer does a good job providing a fairly tasty strawberry character on a mostly citric sour base. But too sour I guess which hampers drinkability. Enjoyable and solid but in no way amazing.
