Brewed with heirloom German rye from the European "rye belt", this hardy cereal crop provides hints of spice complemented by a depth of nutty and rich field grain flavor. Simcoe and Amarillo hops sprinkle in West Coast citrus aromas and a piney bite. Lager yeast ties the recipe together, providing a crisp and refined finish.

Bottle from Safeway. Medium amber pour with soft, foamy head. Gentle, malty aroma, caramel, rye. Smooth feel, taste is more of the malts, getting a bit savory and spicy near the back. Rye and hops worked into a nice combo for this one.

Very deep orange with an off-white head. Malty, rye, medium spice, a bit of hops in there, too. Some caramel for good measure. Clean throughout. Full bodied. A nice brew, light on the bitterness but full of tasty goodness.

Bottle from Granzellas. Amber pour with an ample amount of creamy beige head. Aromatic with floral and grassy hops, a little spicy in the background. Taste is just about what I was hoping for, a spicy lager. The underlying malty sweetness is accented with spicy rye and florals. On the mild side of bitter.

Pour is a clear copper with a large white head. Aroma is a nice pine a floral hop with some green onion in there. Flavor is more pine hops with a bitter bite. Finish has a little caramel malt but it just gives the beer body not sweetness. Pretty decent hopped up lager. Think Sam Adams Boston lager but on steroids.

22 oz. bottle. It pours a clear, rich orange gold color with a frothy orange/cream colored head that shrinks in about a minute. The aroma is sweet and hoppy wiht some grapefruit, light floral hops and spice. Some sweet caramel malt. Very IPA-ish. The flavor is a bit more floral and spicy with some toasted rye malt and sweeter caramel malts in the middle. Some berry fruit with solid piney bitterness. Very smooth on the palate with low/medium carbonation. The rye lends some dry toastiness to the malt character, but thereβs a bit too much sweetness in here too. The hop character is nice, but Iβm not getting much Mosaic quality. Mostly Simcoe. A decent beer, but more of an IPA.

65 cl bottle @ hotel room, Los Angeles. Aroma is a bit odd with menthol and grapefruit. Also some malty notes. Palate is very low on CO2. Flavour has caramel, toffee, grapefruit and nettles. Meh.
