Keg at Monkey Paw brewpub, SD, 21/04/14. Light black with a moderate tan covering that retains well. Nose is light roast, toffee, minerals, light cardboard, earthy cocoa. Taste comprises much the same as the aroma. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying finale. Ok dry stout.

Draught Wow. Taster glass is a 100% correct pint o’ the black cows’ milk on scale 1/4. This merits an extra point. Roasted, smoked, and somehow, faintly sprout-like nose. Sweet, less bitter/roasted than Guinness, and certainly without the typical stout acidity of the roasted barley. Very creamy, thick MF, but only medium bodied at best. Finish is better resistant than most. Quite meriting stout.

On tap at Monkey Paw. Pours a pure black color with a grey head. The aroma is smooth light milky malts. The flavor is much like a smooth Guinness, some roast, caramel, milky, light flavor. Thick body. Good.
