South Pacific Pale Ale
Kipling was the first UK beer to use the exquisite Nelson Sauvin hop from New Zealand. We brew this as a SMASH (Single Malt and Single Hop) using the heritage Maris Otter as a base malt which works to allow the complex flavour of this hop to really shine through. There is a grassy, grapefruit character on the nose, followed by passionfruit and mango. It finishes with a balanced and thirst-quenching bitterness.

All the descriptions are true, but I suppose the taste was very light compared to my expectations. A nice floral and citrus nose off the pillowy white head. The color is cloudy yellow to orange which is extremely appetizing. The taste falls short however to such a nice beginning.

Cask at In de Wildeman. Hazy golden colour, soapy white head. Aroma of NS hops, sharp citrus, grapes, grapefruit, hint of cat piss, sweet tropical fruits like pineapple. Flavour is medium-sweet, fruity, pineapple, mango, kiwi, grapes, nice dry citrussy NS-hoppy bitter finish. Light to medium-bodied, oily mouthfeel, very tasty stuff.

Cask at Cross Scythes, Sheffield. Pale gold. Tight, white, lasting head. Aroma is ripe, white grape. Some peach. Taste is citrus. Some light, bitter grapefruit. Has an unwelcome fusty finish that let’s it down, though.

pale yellow colour, minimal white head; aroma of citrus, grass, resin and, surprisingly kiwi (as they indicated above);taste of citrussy and floral hops with some malty sweetness; very refreshing pale ale; I like it very much update: as it is warming up both the tastes and aromas are more and more intensive and it is still refreshing - re-rated from 4.1 (9,3,8,4,17) to 4.2 (9,3,9,4,17) - it is really a pity that it is a bit cloudy - not really hazy, but rather like a clear golden beer with some contamination - otherwise it would be a perfect beer
