South Pacific Pale Ale
Kipling was the first UK beer to use the exquisite Nelson Sauvin hop from New Zealand. We brew this as a SMASH (Single Malt and Single Hop) using the heritage Maris Otter as a base malt which works to allow the complex flavour of this hop to really shine through. There is a grassy, grapefruit character on the nose, followed by passionfruit and mango. It finishes with a balanced and thirst-quenching bitterness.

Scottish interpretation of an American pale ale with thin, white head and golden blonde colour. Flowery aroma of rhubarb, caramel, honey, sage, berries; malt sweetish taste, some dried fruits, orange touch, fruitier in the middle and finishing in a herbal, flowery, quite long hoppiness.

(bottle) Slightly hazy, pale golden colour with a medium-sized foamy white head. Hoppy aroma of grapefruit, grass and catpiss, slightly doughy pale malt in the background. Mildly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly doughy malt character with loads of citric, grapefruity hops, accompanied by some grassy accents towards the mildly bitter finish. A bit perfumed, has something of a (cheaper) Sauvignon Blanc from NZ. 11.VIII.14

500 ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy, golden orange colour with an average, frothy, good lacing, off-white head. Lots of sediment. Fruity hop aroma with citrus and grass. Sweet flavour of malt, fruit, grass, and citrus with a dry, bitter hoppy finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Very nice.
