The next iteration of our Happy Cowshake series of milkshake beers takes a dark turn. We have taken inspiration from the classic chocolate milkshake, by making a delicious milk stout using a complex mix of malted barley, oats and wheat, boiled with milk sugar and Tonka bean to create a spicy sweet wort and fermented with English ale yeast.
We then added loads of Tonka beans and liquid cacao just before packaging to create an exceptional, thick stout with delightful aromas of vanilla, oak, marzipan, dark chocolate and freshly ground coffee beans.

Can sample at a Yana's tasting at troubles' place. Dark brown to black. Tonka, coffee, infected, a bit vegetal, milk, sour milk, roast, some chocolate, sweet and slightly sourish.

Can at home in Hackney - sourced from HOTM. Pours clear, deep brown with a modest, frothy but fading beige head. Medium sweet flavour, a little coconut, tonka, soft roast, lightly bitter cocoa, a little ash and earth. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Some vague dark fruits in the finish, berries, cocoa. A bit scattered overall but it’s drinkable.
