Ice-distilled strong German brown lager. Malt flavours, colour and ABV are concentrated to create this delightfully complex bready boozy lager, which finishes clean.

Bottle from my brethren stash. Opaque ruby tinged dark chestnut. Aroma has vinous sourness and a woody streak over . Flavourwise it is tangy - sour but sweet edged. Berries and vinous. More wood. Underlying sugariness and malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. More sour than I was expecting. OK but not the big stick boozy Eisbock you'd hope for.

This is at least 10% too low for an eisbock. Pours deep ruby brown, nose is raspberry, jam, caramel, toffee, taste is sweet, fruity, toffee, too thin for the style. 8/8/7/7=7
