Summer is in full swing! It’s been a warm few months but now it’s time to sit and relax with a pint of our new Seasonal, Reed.
This summer’s ale has been influenced by a West Coast IPA from our American cousins. Slightly bitter and a perfect level of dryness but fruity on the nose. We have introduced new world hops to give the beer a modern twist and dosed the brew with a selection of fruity and spicy hops. First comes Cascade, a spicy citrus hop native of Oregon USA. In addition, we have included Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka from New Zealand to help boast and enhance its fruity aroma. The use of Crystal malt in this brew has built complexity, body and sweetness and has left us with a beautiful amber colour, think wonderful Californian evening summer sunset. Isn’t that just perfect?

Cask at the Woolpack, Hertford on 21st August 2025. Crystal clear copper with shallow off-white foam leaving a full lacing. Fruity aroma. Malts, pines and resins in-mouth with the hint of citrus. Malty finish with tangy fruits lingering on the tongue. Light bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.
