Stantway Kernel is a traditional variety from Gloucestershire. It is a late season sharp apple, producing very large, hard fruit which ripens at the end of November. This makes it both unusual and valuable in the orchard. It was so wet in 2024 that we were actually harvesting these apples with our boots underwater! Our first single variety cider from our two young trees: this is a cider that smells of apple sauce and tastes like it too, delicious!

500ml bottle from Cat in the Glass. Hazy pale yellow colour, fizzy white head that quickly dissipates away and aroma of apple flesh, custard note. Taste is appley, fleshy fruity, with a mineral note and some light acidity. Medium bodied, light carbonation, medium dry finish. Quite drinkable.
