From tap at the brewery. Spicy aroma with malt, kruidkoek, some caramel, notes of stewed/dried fruit. Medium sweet flavour, bit sticky. Nothing like enjoying a sweet spicy Winter Warmer in the middle of summer.

On tap @ Café den Tollensteghe, Culemborg.
Dark brown with a beige head. Dark caramel, cinnamon and dark fruits. Sweet taste with a sweet, slightly boozy finish. Nice winter warmer.

Halve quad dit, vrij dik van winegums en christmas pudding. Bak aan bruine kandijsuiker, maar juist amper kruiderij (ondanks dat er best veel in zit volgens het etiket). Uitstekend voor de winter.

Creamy tan head left a decent cover on a dark brown still body. Malt, chocolate, syrup & spicy aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & creamy with a lighter dry clean back. Dark chocolate, syrup, spices, berry, demerara, malt & Sarsaparilla tastes. Lovely Sipper

Bottle. dark brown color. Caramel, clove and anis in the aroma. Orange peel. Malty yet dry, spicy flavor with orange peel, anis and clove. Licorice. Too herbal for me, but well brewed.

Fles 33cl thuis. Kandij, caramelzoeten, rood fruit, kruidig, cinnamon, licht sticky mouthfeel. Ergens een bittertje. (3-3-2019).

Süffiger, stark kräutriger Beginn. Zu viel Sternanis und Lakritz, angenehm nach Zimt. Das Malz kommt kaum noch hervor. Überwürzt. 10/7/6/7//7

(Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 22 Feb 2017) Dark brown colour, almost black, with hints of ruby. Dense beige head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with notes of caramel, dried fruit, raisins, prunes and burnt sugar. Malty taste with caramel, dried fruit, raisins, dark bread, chocolate and a gentle spicy bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced winter warmer. Nice one.

Bottle [from trade with bierkoning, thanks!] @ home shared with Thompson. Hazy red brown color, average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, liquorice wood, caramel, brown sugar, herbs or spices, sweetish and slightly bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Not bad.
