This dark Farmstead® ale—which honors Edward’s sister—is crafted from American malted barley, German roasted malts, European hops, our farmhouse yeast, and water from our well. It was aged in a wine barrel for nearly a year, but this one was conditioned atop cocoa nibs from Peru, sourced and roasted by Mateo at Prophecy Chocolate in nearby Hardwick, Vt., and Monte Grande coffee from Cajamarca, Peru, sourced and roasted by The Coffee Collective.

This is a novel one! Definitely has some sour notes of front, bit of twang, dark berries, then some dry espresso, nip of roast, minimal cocoa, moderate acidity. Spot of lemon. Little bit of funk, raisin, toasted wood. Fairly cohesive all things considered.
