From a bottle, thanks to my daughter and her monthly beer club. Has a slight slaggy smell to it. Although this is sold and listed as a golden ale, its much more like a regular old apa. Yes, way too mucch astringent hops in this, almost a little rude. Alky is very apparent. If this wants to be a golden or blonde ale, better send this back to school and gets some civilized manners. Looks like any other pale ale.

Bottle @ Ellen’s Stardust Diner on Broadway in the Big Apple :-) Pours slightly hazy amber with small off-white head. Clear aroma of hops with a touch of yeast and grain. Sweetish, grainy and estery flavour with malty and hoppy notes. Mildly bitter aftertaste. Rather anonymous but ok.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours orange tinged gold with a foamy white head. Light sweet malt aroma. If there’s hop, it’s light. Near med body. Flavor is definitely like there’s a trace of candy (not candi); almost like a touch of peppermint candy. But there’s a lot of herbal bitter so it’s pretty balanced. Rather unusual, but quite drinkable. If you need a break from bitter.
