Sample from 2016 bottle during Blarney Wine Festival 2018 on 03/17/2018. The beer pours a dark brown color with a thin light beige head that disappears quickly to a sparse outer ring. Small patches of lace. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel and roast malt. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, molasses, fruit and a bit of spice. The finish is mildly boozy with a malty aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle from Bruisin’ Ales. Pours darkish brown with no head. Aroma of brown sugar and some definite "spicy" wood. Med + body. Flavor is brown sugar, spicy wood and something more that I can’t pin down. Maple or treacle. It’s very pleasing. Quite tasty. Heat is hard to detect.

Very interesting beer. Very soft carbonation. Would be fun to cellar and try it over several years. Several different times. Aroma is dark malt dark ripe fruits and tobacco. Flavor is similar to nose but has more going on. Add Cocoa, roast malt and a bit of black bread. Excellent finish and a very good drinking beer with a well hidden strength.

Bottle shared at the July 2016 MDBG tasting, 7/11/16. Thin fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of cedar, toffee, honey, berries, vanilla. The taste is toffee, vanilla, wood, whiskey. Medium bodied, booze well hidden.
