Apple Crandall Reserve is made entirely from hand-harvested fruit from Schramm's Orchards. Crandall currants contribute a firm acidity, rounded tannins, and a luscious spicy aroma to the fruity, estery blend of dozens of carefully selected heirloom apple varieties - creating a deeply complex and deeply delicious beverage. This mead has a Vin Jaune or Fino Sherry-like character that imparts tangy and umami flavors, which pair well with shellfish, olives, cured meats, nuts and soft cheese.

375ml bottle. Pours a copper-brown color. The aroma is mostly honey with some faint apples. While the aroma was faint and indistinct, that was not the case of the taste. The taste was big and bold with apples, currants, honey, some woody tannins, and yes-sherry too. The palate was full and viscous. Finished fantastically long and sweet (but not cloying). Overall: Overall: Top shelf stuff, probably only a once in a lifetime experience. Paired passably well with some imported provolone ( I should have paired it with some Humboldt fog).
