The first Uncommon Expressions series cider shows patience, oak, and the perfect cider apples can capture something truly magic.
These Michelin apples, grown from a single farm in Summerland, BC, are a traditional French cider fruit varietal producing a medium bittersweet juice.
Over time, wild fermented, single-varietal Michelin dry cider apples were slowly matured - for two years - in French oak barrels.
Enjoy a full-bodied cider with a gentle astringency of crystallised citrys peel, lingering buttery dryness reminiscent of juicy green apple, and burnt caramel kept vibrant by the bright riesling wine-like acidity and effervescent carbonation.

Hazy pale amber. Earthy apple. Decent. Off-dry. Good quality cider from Calgary.

Bottle pour at Barrel Fest 2025, pours a mostly clear bright golden, small white head. Aroma has a strange woody character or maybe that’s the yeast? Tons of barrel and odd wild yeast I guess. Flavour is full of wood, again with the odd yeast expression, and dry apple skins. Moderate carb. Unusual elements here. Not totally sure this fully worked out but it’s not bad.

Bottle pour at Barrel Fest 2025. Pours murky dull gold with minimal head. Musty apple skins and a bit of warm spice on the nose. Flavour is quite dry, apple skins, some tannins. Good level of carbonation. Nice.
