This beer’s name sums up the ideas of bringing the best together to celebrate. It is filled with seasonal flavors from generous amounts of toasted and caramel malts, mixed with equally generous amounts of honey, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. We feel it is the perfect libation, filled with flavors of the season.

Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective Porter tasting on 12/4/08: This beer pours a clear amber color with a thin off-white head that recedes steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Spices and malt in the nose, with a hint of molasses. Medium body with flavors of nutmeg, malt and cinnamon. Very low bitterness at any point. The finish is sweet spices with a malty aftertaste. Fairly one-note overall, needs work to make it onto my annual holiday beer list.

Bottle. Pours a medium brown (very transparent, though) with very minimal head and aromas that have a surprising amount of ginger to them. It seems to be the dominant spice in the nose and is a little unsettling. There is a hefty dose of caramel malt drifting around as well. First sip is simply awful. There is a really syrupy and cloying sweetness that comes across as medicinal or that funky flavoring they use to cover up medicine taste. The ginger adds to the disaster and all of this blends into a highly artificial aftertaste that is making me head for the drain for the second time tonight. Honestly, how hard is it to get a seasonal beer right?
