This beer’s name sums up the ideas of bringing the best together to celebrate. It is filled with seasonal flavors from generous amounts of toasted and caramel malts, mixed with equally generous amounts of honey, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. We feel it is the perfect libation, filled with flavors of the season.

Purchased at Hyde Park Wine & Spirits in Cincinnati, OH; enjoyed on a mid September Tuesday night. Appearance a copper amber, cloudy, with a thin slightly off white head that rims around the glass. Aroma of honey, a touch of spices, rather soft aroma, maybe a touch of roasted malt. Taste is smooth and great, tastes like the holiday season. Notes of cinnamon and nutmeg for sure, along with honey which adds to the smoothness and a touch of caramel malt. Up front this isn’t too sweet, but has a nice sweet finish. It’s 8% and slightly noticeable, full bodied, medium carbonation. Pretty good stuff.

Bottle. Pours a deep rusty amber with a small off-white head. Lots of ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon, in that order of strength. Some brown sugar, molasses and caramel malt notes, too. Honey is in there, but I might not have noticed if I hadn’t known. Taste is mildly sweet but the spice mostly dominates, particularly in the finish. Mouthfeel is creamy and nice. Ultimately, the spicing is well done but a little middle of the road for a spiced holiday ale. It’s a solid holiday beer but not a standout. By that, I mean that it’s quite good but not different enough from the pack.

Lightly spiced, toasted caramel malts, with some fruity notes, too. Medium bodied. Has a mild helping of spice on top of the caramel malts. Lightly toasted, some ginger, cinnamon, and light fruit. Easy going Christmas ale that has neither too many nor not enough spice. I’d say accessible is a solid descriptor of this brew.

Cinnamon and caramel nose. Crystal clear auburn brown, almost no head. Flavor is the same as the aroma, but with the addition of nutmeg. Ginger finish. I would like this if I liked spiced ales, but I do not. The spice is not overbearing but is all that the beer has going for it. The base beer may not be all that great.

9th October 2008. GABF. Clear brown beer. Refreshing spicy beer. Not too dry or hoppy - sweet but spict and some banana too!

Deep red body, thin off-white head. Nose of ginger and hints of nutmeg. Body of ginger and honey, backed by toast and brown sugar, finishing with dissolved powdery nutmeg and cinnamon notes. Somewhat tangy.

12 ounce bottle shared by cdumler. Thanks! Pours a reddish brown color with a thin head. Huge spice in the nose with a toffeeish banana vibe. Taste is heavy spice, HUGE ginger, and others, with a bitter herbal note and sweet malts. Medium bodied.

Tap at barcade - holy spices batman! - I still thought this was pretty good, though - tons of nutmeg, ginger and spruce in the aroma and flavor - thick, chewy mouthfeel - medium honey sweetness that the spices do a good job of tempering - cinnamon and pine - yea, a little extreme with the spices, but tasty none-the-less.

Purfumy spicy aroma, smells a little aromatic and volatile. Spice overtones override any beer taste. Difficult and medicinal. Malty bitter lager feeling on the palate. Comes across fairly strong. Finish is long weird spice veggie linger, wew. Will not buy again. 12DCA S5L3F2T305

A fairly typical holiday spiced ale. =++Sampled on draft at the Rivertowne Inn in North Huntingdon PA this beer poured a dark caramel-brown color with a small tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweetish, spicy and dominated by nutmeg and cinnamon. The flavor was dry and nutty with a strong nutmeg presence and notes of clove and cinnamon. The finish was long, dry and spicy. Solid.
