This Triple Mash Imperial Stout is brewed for maximum body and intensity. The flavor profile is dominated by black coffee, dark chocolate and notes of licorice, balanced by a light toasted bitterness. The high alcohol content gives a warm finish, and the three-hour boil results in an almost syrupy consistency – Cheers! from the brewmaster. The term “Dark Horse” comes from 19th century horse racing, where an unknown horse could suddenly run away with victory. Today, the old expression and there it seems is used about a person or object that seemingly comes from nowhere and surprises everyone with strength, character and success.

Bottle @ØD, Frederikshavn. Black, slightly oily, no head. Sweet roast and licorice aroma. Sweet, rich dark malty flavour, syrupy, bittersweet with a little licorice. Sticky finish.
