It’s been a minute, but we are back to our regular scheduled programming with another killer release in our Opacity series! We increased the Red Shed Malted Wheat on this one for the sake of experimentation and we are loving the results. The hop blend uses the last of our selected Nelson from the 2024 harvest that brings huge tropical notes and finishes with a dash of Riwaka Amplifire Oil for good measure. Expect over the top New Zealand character of Passion Fruit Gushers, and Gooseberry Diesel.
Hops: Nelson, Riwaka Amplifire
Yeast: Saturated
Malts: Pilsner, Flaked Oats, Malted Wheat, Chit Malt

Opaque, super thick head. Smells like nz hops and hazy yeatistiness. Some hop burn and light malt. Okay malt but.

On tap at Irrational, pours a cloudy yellowish blonde with a medium white head. Aroma has a wonderful NZ hop tang, plenty of dankness, and very minor hopburn. Flavour is a bit muddled, with some hop tang, muddled earthiness, and a soft citric character. Much better hop aromatics than flavour expression but still good. Solid.

On tap at the brewery. Pours opaque yellow with a white head. Tons of tangy NZ hops and bright citrus zest on the nose. Flavour has more of the citrus zest with the tangier hop notes taking the background. The yeast leaves the flavour profile very muddled though; this would have been better as a West Coast.
