Our Lucidity series is back at it again with a modern take on hop-saturated ales. From our perspective, a modern IPA refers to the contemporary progression of IPAs that have evolved significantly from traditional interpretations. In particular, the modern style is focused solely on hop flavor and aroma, resulting in enhanced drinkability. Using a potent blend of our selected Mosaic & Nectaron, we find notes of stone fruit kush, indistinct tropical, and bright citrus.
Hops: Mosaic, Nectaron
Yeast: Chico
Malts: Pilsner

Grapefruit and nectarine. Pours clear golden with pretty good head. Medium bitter finish and good body. Pleasant.

On tap at Irrational, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma has a nice tropical fruity hop character, along with melon, light pine, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour has a nice melony hop expression, with gentle tropical fruits, citrusy notes, and a grainy malt finish. Good hop expression but it lacks the bitter assertiveness than I ideally want. Still great.

On tap at the brewery. Pours clear gold with a white head. Nose is full of hops; dank, pine, melon. Flavour has lots of dirty dank oils up front, some bittering pine, and some citrus peels. Hop expression is great, but feels a bit dirty. Still great.
