Brewed with local Riverbend malt, honey, sweet potato and grits! Spice and sweet potato in the nose, a hint of grits and a dry tart finish.

Sample from growler at the Beers from the Bikes Villes tasting on 11/08/2013. The beer is an amber-orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to a wispy film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of grainy malt, caramel and fruit. Light to medium body with flavors of caramel malt, spices and fruit. The finish is sweet with a spicy yeast and fruit aftertaste. Not sure if this beer is supposed to replicate the taste of its namesake but I am not getting it if so. Either way a decent Saison.

Brewvival Trip Beer 22. Draft at the brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a thin creamy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of melon, sweet potato, pale malts, honey. The taste is bread, spice, sweet potato, mild fruits. Medium bodied, lingering spice. Solid.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a near clear deep amber orange with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice light fruit note with sweet light fruits, flora and sweet grain with a bit of dry grass. Flavor starts with grain, flora and light fruit and a dry grassiness in the finish.
