Hand Across Canada commemorates our first Barrel Fest in 2023. It is a collab between us, Category 12 of BC, Nokomis of Saskatchewan, Low Life of Manitoba, and 2 Crows of Nova Scotia. With ingredients from Red Shed Malting we made an amber, malty ale, then aged it in California Port barrels for 6 months. The result is a spicy beer, with red wine notes and a tannic finish.

375mL bottle, pours a hazy, muddled amber with a small white head. Aroma is pretty ordinary, with toasted bready malt and very mellow port barrel presence. Flavour is dry, with toasted bready malt, no real notice of the port barrels, nor really any malt depth. There’s nothing wrong with it, but there’s also nothing really right with it. Pretty disappointing for Blind Enthusiasm.

Hazy amber, a bit on the dull side in terms of appearance. This one's quite yeasty. Some toasty notes, not a great yeast character. Something not hitting here.

375mL bottle. Pours murky dull gold with a white head. Very gentle dry caramel malts on the nose. Flavour has very weak dry caramel malts, some dry grass, gentle spice. Not a whiff of port to be found. Pretty uninteresting; surprising given the line-up of breweries. Meh.
