Everybody likes a big hug right? Our sailor is a massive beer, a heavy Double IPA of 8%. Let him take you in his arms and overwhelm you. With his powerful hop aroma’s and malty backbone he is an absolute, honey sweet charmer.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is piney hops, sweetish biscuity malt, caramel, pine resin, orange, ripe tropical fruits, touch of toffee, light candied fruits with a mildly herbal finish. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium. Not the most fruity IIPA, lots of malt and resin with orange, tropical notes and a soft herbal finish. Bittersweet, bit candied. Very nice.

Suiker, den, broodkraag, hosties, niet heel complex, zacht, zou eerder zeggen een tripel (en dan geen ipa) dan een double ipa, voor een reguliere tripel ok

Old school ipa. Full of things and kinda a mess though, clouded and acrid. But overall okay. Gollem amstelstraat

On tap at Proeflokaal Arendsnest, pours a hazy copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out overripe stone fruits, resinous hops and toasted caramel. Flavour is somewhat muffled, again with the overripe stone fruits, earthy resinous hops, and caramel. Not the most cohesive but it works decently enough.

Tap @ NBFD. Pale amber color. Soft citrus, oily hops and tropical fruit in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with soft oily grassy notes. Tropical fruit. Nice.

Bottle from Uw Bier specialist @ home. Orange to copper colour with a medium sized off white head. Smells and tastes hops, malts, sweet, slightly bitter, slightly herbs and slightly older hops, leafy. Medium body, nice carbo. Not how I prefer my double ipas.

On tap at Arendsnest. Hazy orange with a small head. Hoppy with grapefruit, resin and some light malt. The body was almost full and the finish bitter.

Thank you Klaas! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG17. Dark amber orange, small tanned head. Nose is herbal pine resin old school big bitter herbal with bark & herbal pine. Taste is herbal pine bark, basic old school herbal pine resin, bark, bitter leaves finish,… Unbalanced herbal bark, leaves, pine,… not great but passable old school DIPA. Okay enough for sure.
