The third chapter of a continuing tribute to our Brewmaster's father, David "Hayseed" Thomssen. This "Triple Oaked" English Style Barleywine was brewed in July of 2020, then aged nearly 40 months, first in a single hand-picked 9-Year Heaven Hill Bourbon barrel then transferred to a dripping wet California Port barrel, and then finally finished in a single hand-selected 18-Year Willett Bourbon barrel. Incredibly complex and evolving notes of English Toffee, Caramel Drizzle, Vanilla Beans, and Candied Figs give way to substantial Bourbon, Port, and Oak expression as it warms.
