330ml draught at Balthazar, share with Finn. Almost black in the glass, film-type layer leaving dotted spots on the glassware. Roasted malty aromas, hints of chocolate. Dark malt forward taste character with moments of cocoa-chocolate joined by liquorice. Drying close with earthy chocolate, gently roasted. Medium bodied. Nice. (Tromsø, 13.01.2026).

Appearance is very dark, with a a thick foamy light brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, nutty malt, cocoa hints. Taste is chocolate, coffee, vanilla hints, bit of liquorice and raisin, toasty malt. Smooth mouthfeel, quite sweet finish.

440ml can. Pours black with a big beige/tan head. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate, dark malts. Taste of creamy vanilla, chocolate, roast malts, bittersweet leaning to a bitter finish. Medium bodied, smooth. Really nice.

Can from Against The Grain. Dark brown body with a thin beige head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of cherry, chocolate and coffee. Flavour of hazelnut and vanilla. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Luxurious and sweet - sweeter than I was expecting for a coffee-influenced beer.

9/10/2025. Keg at the 2025 Nottingham Robin Hood Beer Festival. Great pour. Aroma is sweet, chocolate, roasted, malt, coffee, milk sugars. Very smooth. Nice sweetness, with good balancing bitterness. Really liked this.
