Sample at Nord sea beer fest. Hazy yellow color, creamy white head. Aroma is mild herbal, hoppy with pale malts. Label saus there’s a special ingredient from north sea, i.guess seaweed, that should make it salty. It’s just a little bit salty, luckily. It has a citrusy tone instead, fairly well balanced. Average carbonation for.the.style, finish is mineral.light sulphur and seawater with hoppy tones. Original, a bit weird and muddy, seems to be popular here.

Gekocht op zaterdag 4-2-2017 bij K&S Beer Tobacco Galerie in de Katelijnestraat 52 te Brugge tijdens het 10e Bruggse bierfestival. Een winkeltje waar je keuze hebt uit meer dan 500 verschillende bieren en met nog een ingang/achterdeur rechttegenover brouwerij De Halve Maan. En geproefd op 15-7-2017. Poppolou Classic is een blond en wazig biertje dat bij het uitschenken een overvloedige hoeveelheid wit schuim produceert dat voornamelijk uit grove bellen bestaat, het slaat wel vlug neer, na een tijdje rest er nog slechts een dun fijn laagje schuim. Het schuim is normaal wandklevend. Slecht weinig CO2 verzadiging met fijne belletjes. Het aroma van Poppolou Classic is zoetig met honing, fruitig met wat perzik en moutig met biscuit, graan en tarwe-mout, ook een beetje wort kan je onderscheiden. De smaak is bitterig en wat zoet, ook wat moutig en hier moet ik ook weer denken aan graan en tarwe-mout. In de mond geeft Poppolou Classic een volle smaak is hij wat bitterdroog, heeft hij een stoffige textuur en normaal prikkelend. Met dit alles heb je toch een ietwat onevenwichtig totaalgevoel. De nasmaak duurt redelijk lang en is ook moutig, weer de graan en de tarwe-mout. Verder is hij wat bitterig en licht droog. Poppolou Classic is vooral een moutig en bitterig biertje zonder verdere verrassingen. F: big, white, almost average retention. C: blonde, hazy. A: malt, hint of honey, green hops, grassy, lemon, hint of raspberries, hint of yeast. T: malt, touch of honey, grassy, floral, mineral salty tones, green apples, medium body, medium carbonation, decent bitterness on the palate, light refreshing beer, good one, 33cl bottle from Spar supermarket near the Manuscript pub :) in Oostende.

Bottle from LDW, Eke. Hazy yellow colour, white foam. Bitter and dry beer. Easy drinkable. Some notes of citrus peel. Ok.

Small white head, receding over fine & well-carbonated (cold)hazed pale yellow-golden beer. White candi sugar, bit floral, lots of pale malts and a tad soapy-herbal aroma. Fine, but not very inviting. Ultra dry, spicy-herbal. The dryness relates linea recta to (too much) white candi sugar, and may be well inforced by the mineral content, which is obvious too. Warming up, sulphur. Light, rather creamy MF despite good carbonation, and, as said, bone-dry. Sorry. This is just boring.
