Here’s another addition to the “Like a” series, and this time we’ve chosen a well-known recipe that can be enjoyed cold – in fact, it’s even better that way! Gazpacho is a traditional Spanish soup made from raw vegetables. Expect a refreshing explosion of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, basil, and a pinch of garlic.
Some foods taste best when fresh, raw, and even chilled. Gazpacho, the iconic cold soup from Andalusia, Spain, is undoubtedly one of them. And it was this soup that inspired the latest beer in our “Like a” series. Like a Gazpacho is not an experiment for fun. It is a carefully balanced drink that combines the taste of real vegetables – tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, fresh basil, and subtle garlic notes. The saltiness and subtle acidity of the gose beer style underline the overall character and make this beer an unusual but very refreshing experience, which may be more welcome than anything else on summer days.

Het aantal missers in deze stijl is toch wel vrij abominabel. Koude tomatensoep met alcohol en een paar verdwaalde bubbels als je geluk hebt.

Can at Justičná tasting. Peppery dominant aroma, taste of peppers and cucumber, light garlic, light to medium sour. Medium to full body, peppery sour finish. Weird.

Can at Justičná Tasting. Red orange color with small white head. Aroma of red pepper, nothing more. Taste is red pepper, cucumber, basil. Good.

Canned 500ml. -Courtesy of Marko, shared with him & Hrabren. Neon red/orange coloured, no head at all, strong basil and light cucumber in the nose. Basil dominant, light cucumber and some tomatoes with salty touch. Mild spicy finish. Interesting but like a goulash is better.

0.5 l can thanks to Marko, who brought it from Prague, shared with Ogi and him. Hazy pinkish orange watermelon colour. Aroma is lightly spicy at first, dried oregano, basil, some cucumber, and some bell pepper. Light candy fruity touch, strawberry. Light, drinkable, salty, mineral, cucumber water. Hint of watermelon and basil. Soft texture and carbonation, slightly too sweet in the finish, but the salty part is done right.

Rather thin, which works nicely with the tomato base. Light basil makes it interesting and drinkable. Tasty, well balanced, quite good. Honestly a bit redundant though, to make this, when you already made a bloody mary. Kinda sameish, what will come next? Like a pizza?

Tap at Zichovec Beer Fest 2025. Murky red body, no head. Tomato and peppers dominate the aroma and the taste, bit spicy, smooth, no heat. Very well balanced, very taste, no heat but meh, exactly what it should be!
