Draft at Angela’s. Dark brown color. Nice cocoa powder aroma. Taste is earthy chocolate, tannins. Decent.

Alisa brought this one back for me from a trip to North Carolina. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a large fluffy brown head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was cocoa powder, red wine and anise. The flavor was bitter, cocoa powder, red wine, anise, wood, a bit of roasty malts and faint perfumey hops. Long finish. Moderately full bodied and creamy. Well done.
