Bottle ("New Zealand Pyment") thanks to secret santa. Pours with a deep golden hued body. Still with solid legs. Aromas are sweet, waxy honey, buttery, light oak and spice with a touch of minerality. Fruit. Wine character is light but this mead still smells most excellent. Medium to light alcohol fumes. Vanillin and light tangerine zest. Flavors are sweet, lovely honey character with nice floral notes. Tannin and oak. Some juicy and fruity notes that go beyond yeast esters. Definitely dessert levels of sweetness, but good balance provided by acidity, tannin and alcohol. Not cloying at all. Some mineral notes. Pretty viscous mouthfeel, still, medium to long duration. Minimal alcohol notes. Nice floral, waxy and slightly minerally mead. Nice crispness with a good balance on the finish.
