Bottle. Pours with a hazy deep wooden brown hued body with a medium sized and mostly lasting off-white head with good lace. Aromas are of port soaked banana bread. Red wine, tannin, currants, very over ripened bananas, earthy, peppery, wooden, vanilla, vinous, brandy soaked raisins, mild nuttiness, warm oak, baked bread. Flavors are of strong red wine, medium raisinated, baked bread, tannin, rich caramel, toffee, dark fruits, currants, raisins, over ripened banana. Tastes pretty clean. Raw pepper and rich oak. Odd having an uninnoculated cab barrel aged beer. Rich and the wine probably dominates a bit much, but tasty. Fuller carbonation, big, tannic, warming body. Very nice and warming, french toasted oak character (smells exactly like the cab barrels do when they are gamma jetted with hot water). Rounded. Very light spice left over from the original beer. Very nice to drink.
